THINK ZION NATIONAL PARK WITHOUT THE CROWDS! Snow Canyon State Park is a 7,400-acre scenic park tucked amid lava flows and soaring sandstone cliffs in a strikingly colorful and fragile desert environment.  Marvel at the majestic views and the subtle interplay of light, shadow and color dancing across canyon walls.  Located in the Red Cliff Desert Reserve, established to protect the federally-listed desert tortoise and its habitat, the park offers opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing and photography.  There are 17 easy to moderate hiking trails ranging from .5 miles to 8 miles as well as two difficult trails ranging from 1.5 miles to 3.5 miles. There is also a three-mile paved walking/biking trail.

Activities and excursions in the area abound. Visit St. George Temple and historic sites; hike to several pools inside a slot canyon at Red Cliffs; go fishing at Quail Creek State Park; rent an ATV/UTV, kayak, boat or wave runner at Sand Hollow SP.

Nearby St. George is the gate way to the National Parks in Southern Utah.  From Snow canyon, take a day trip Zion NP (51 miles), Bryce Canyon (141 miles) or Kolob Canyons (43 miles) home to spectacular finger canyons with soaring cliffs and the world’s largest free-standing arch.

Getting there option: Spend a night enroute at Sams Town RV Park and casino, Las Vegas. Stay in the section off Boulder highway.  Make you own reservation. We have 10 pull thru 70' sites reserved for Tuesday, May 14 that are located together. Call (800) 562-7270  and request to reserve a site under name of Scott Connelly, Great Outdoors.
