  This year we will be hiking through the famous San Diego Safari Park on Saturday Mar 28th @ 9:00am. We will hike through the park in its entirety including taking a ride on the Africa Tram. Tickets/membership should be purchased prior to the event.   Join Us for Pickleball on Coronado!

  Ready for some light-hearted pickleball fun? Great Outdoors San Diego (GOSD) and Rainbow Picklers team up every other Sunday for a friendly morning of play. All skill levels welcome—newbies included! Just bring a paddle, water, and sunscreen. 

  Date & Time: Every other Sunday 10:00–11:50am
  Location: Pickleball courts at the Coronado Marriott Wellness Center (just inside the main entrance, to the right)

  Cost: $8 per person to play
  Parking: Free street parking – or $5 on-site for 2.5 hours with validation at the Wellness Center

  4. One of the group admins will approve your request. Please allow 48 hours for approval.

  5. RSVP for each game via the Spond app. (Registration closes at 9am Friday before each Sunday game so we can secure the right number of courts. Late cancellations or no-shows are still responsible for the $8 court fee.)

  SD - Torrey Pines Gliderport Paragliding

  

  With nearly 100 years of flying history, the Torrey Pines Gliderport is the most historic aviation site in North America, and Southern California’s premiere location for paragliding, hang gliding, remote control models and sailplanes. The Gliderport provides a world class flying site, flight lessons, certifications, tandem flights, equipment sales, and repair services.  We seek to promote all forms of flight and to make Southern California a destination for flight enthusiasts from around the world.   It will take an hour process to prepare for the flight and a 20min in-flight experience. This trip is weather dependent with the morning of confirmation call being made at 9am morning of.

  It's that time again! Let's help the Padres and the San Diego Pride community celebrate Out at The Park at Petco Park on Friday, May 1st at 6:40pm. Tickets are $60 and will be in sections 228/230. If you arrive early they offer a pregame happy hour at Gallagher Square with CocktailFest from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

  The San Diego Padres founded their own hall of fame in 1999:
  

  Since 1999, 14 legendary individuals have been inducted into the San Diego Padre’s hall of fame. Some key examples of which include Tony Gwynn, Trevor Hoffman, Randy Jones, Ted Williams and Kevin Towers.
  
  They joined the MLB in 1969. 
  
  Prior to 1969, the San Diego Padres were a minor league team. However, in 1969 the Padres were chosen along three other minor league teams to join the MLB.hey joined the MLB in 1969:

  Join us to learn about the history of Great Outdoors from when we began in 1978 to today, including our founders and historical chapters across California and beyond! 

  
  

  Day of Schedule: 

  10:00am USC One Archive Visit

  12:00pm Lunch (on own or as group)

  11:30am Urban Walk through USC Campus (1.1 miles, ~30min)

  12:15pm Enter Exhibition as Group, brief Exhibition Discussion (pending Archive confirmation)

  12:30pm Explore PST ART: Art and Science Collide Exhibition

  
  

  Potential Urban Walk Information: This hike from the ONE Archive at USC to the USC Fisher Museum of Art is 1.1 miles through the campus. This urban walk is expected to take 30mins at a generous pace. Confirmation closer to date to come.

  
  

  Parking: USC's ONE Archive has a free private parking lot, so anyone coming directly to the archive will be fine. If you plan to park at the archive, and walk to and back from the exhibition on campus, there shouldn't be a problem with parking. If anyone is planning to park near the exhibition on campus following the archive visit, however, that would likely be rather difficult and expensive.

  Note: There is a football game at the LA Coliseum and it's Trojan Family Weekend, so the area/campus will likely be busy. 

  Cost: Free for Archive visit and potentially per person cost for art exhibit

  Time Commitment: Plan for approx 3-4 hours 

  Dogs: No animals allowed.

  Health Problems/Allergies: It is the responsibility of participants to carry on their person a record of significant allergies, medications and medical history in the event of a medical emergency. Discuss any medical concerns with a trip leader if you wish.

  Hunter Education Certification Course

  Sat Aug 8th to Sun 9th, 2026 @ Ramona Town Hall 

  

  This California Hunter Education Course is taught by volunteer instructors certified by the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG). The class takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday. This hunter education course consists of a minimum of ten hours of classroom instruction. In addition to attending class, students are required to complete the chapter review exercises for the chapters covered on the first day and study at home.

  Pre-Work: 

  It is recommended that students go through an online Study Guide found at: https://www.hunter-ed.com/california/studyGuide/201005/. Students who view the study guide prior to the class will be familiar with the material and have been known to do much better on the exam.

  HOMEWORK REQUIRED TO GET INTO THE CLASS – Print out the Hunter Education Vocabulary Pre-Class homework assignment and bring it to the classroom on the first day of class

  Costs involved: The class is free to all. Participants should bring snacks & drinks to class. Students should also bring paper and pen/pencil to class to take notes. I will have pencils and highlighters in class. We will break for lunch for 30 minutes and food options can be close by in Ramona.

  Students who successfully complete the course of instruction are awarded a Certificate of Completion. This certificate must be presented when applying for a hunting license.

  The Hunter Education Instructor makes the final decision in determining whether a student is qualified to receive a Certificate of Completion. A student who is unsafe or fails to demonstrate good sportsmanship will not be issued a Certificate of Completion. A student who does not pass the 100-question examination cannot be tested again on the same day.
