NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY 

Since 1994, volunteers have come together on the fourth Saturday of every September to participate in stewardship projects to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD), a day dedicated to service and supporting our cherished public lands. In the last decade, over one million volunteers have supported NPLD projects nationwide. You can be a part of this widespread volunteer movement. 

On Saturday September 27, Positional Projects is partnering with Desert Cleanse Project, High Desert Keepers, Landers Homestead Valley Association, and others to clean up the remarkable Giant Rock freestanding boulder in Landers, CA. Activities will include trash clean-up and graffiti removal, and lunch will be provided.

Positional Projects is also hosting optional camping the night before (September 26).

Volunteer at Giant Rock!

Bags, gloves and lunch will be provided. Wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, and bring water, snacks, and sun protection. 4x4 vehicles are strongly recommended to access the cleanup site.

Volunteers gather at Giant Rock at 9 AM — about an hour and 15 minute drive from Palm Springs.
