Explore the charm and vibrancy of Venice Beach! We will be weaving through the picturesque, paths of the historic Venice Canals. Developed in 1905 by Abbot Kinney to bring a slice of Italy to Southern California. The canals are famous for an eclectic mix of architecture ranging from ultra-modern glass cubes to cozy-bohemian beach cottages. Every home has a unique garden, many filled with bougainvillea and jasmine. Some homes even have small wooden docks protruding from the banks with brightly colored boats. Arched wooden footbridges give us vantage points to look down the water corridors.
Depending on the group and the weather we continue to some of the contrasting sections of Venice: from serene gardens lining canals, to a buzzing hub of high-end fashion and trendy dining on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, "the coolest block in America" and on to the energy of the bohemian beach boardwalk. We will take time for some window shopping, street art, and a coffee and a bite to eat.
Whether you are a long-time member or checking out Great Outdoors for the first time, this is the perfect way to meet new friends, get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful Southern California sunshine.
