The Palm Springs Art Museum recently opened a LGBTQ+ themed permanent gallery — the only one of its kind in the nation. This dedicated space was created to explore themes that emerge when you see works by multiple queer artists together. It becomes much easier to understand the range and complexity of a queer perspective in art when you can look at a collection rather than individual pieces, especially when explained by a trained museum docent. Although the museum will soon begin offering public tours of this gallery, they will be first come, first served and not reservable in advance.
Join us for a private docent-led tour of this gallery at a very special price. The usual $500 private docent tour fee has been waived, and museum admission for non-members has been reduced from the regular $25 charge. (Admission is free for museum members.) After the tour, participants are welcome to explore the rest of the museum including LIVS, the restaurant in the sculpture garden, run by the same chef as Bar Cecil. If you would like to be included in the optional group lunch reservation, please indicate this when you register. LIVS will seat us in 4 tables of six, every 15 minutes, until we are all seated.
Due to museum requirements, the last day to register for the tour OR cancel registration is March 27 (if space is still available).
