PS - Hike: Split Rock Plus - Joshua Tree Park

  • Sun, October 05, 2025
  • 7:15 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Joshua Tree National Park

Registration

Split Rock Loop Trail in Joshua Tree National Park will be our first stop. This is an easy, undulating 2.7 mile trail with convenient, sedan accessible parking. Interesting rock formations abound, including one quite wonderful anthropomorphic feature, and a few seemingly out-of-place trees.

The next stop is Hall of Horrors. Opportunities to scamper over, under, and between rocks have been reported to bring an instant return to youthful joy. If we are lucky, we will find the well-hidden Hall of Horrors and descend into it to find the spooky feature. Those uninterested in scrambling on the rocks can enjoy an easy stroll around the rocky outcroppings.  Additional hiking in this area is about 1+miles.
