North Magnesia Falls
Explore the North canyon of Magnesia Falls. In the canyon there are rocky washes and a series of dry waterfalls with Big Horn Sheep sightings possible. This is the side canyon including a stop at the base of the main canyon’s first dry waterfall.
This canyon has dramatic geological displays of twisted rock formations with high rock walls in a series of curves. There are several dry waterfalls to negotiate.
Duration: 3 hours Difficulty: Moderate Total Elevation: 600 ft Distance: 5 miles out & back Terrain: Dry falls, sandy and rocky washes. Mostly full sun exposure.
Space is limited, so please register early to reserve a spot, sign the electronic waiver, and receive any last-minute updates.
Meeting Location: Either meet at 8:30 am at PetsMart parking lot in Palm Springs (map here) or at 9:00 am at the Blixseth Park parking lot (map here). Please indicate your meeting location preference when you register.
Hiking Requirements: You will need to be in good physical condition for this hike. Click here for more information. Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.

New Information: The trail includes several dry waterfalls about 10 ft. in height that will require some scrambling/climbing skills. Climbing gloves would be helpful.
Bring Ten Essentials (click here): Water (1 to 2 liters recommended), trail snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Hiking poles may be helpful.
