PS: HIKE - Herman's Hike SAVE THE DATE

Hike from the Thousand Palms Oasis on the Moon Country trail and up the switchbacks to the peak located on the San Andreas Fault. Continue across the fault ridge and down to Willis Palms Oasis and back to the Willis Palms Trailhead. An optional 1.5mi return hike from Willis Palms Oasis to the Thousand Palms Oasis parking area will be available.

• Trail Length: 6.5 miles 
• Elevation Gain/Loss: 950’
• Difficulty Rating: moderate+
• Trail Type: One way with car shuttle
• Terrain: rocky, sandy areas, trail switchbacks climb  to the top, loose rocks.

• Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (2 to 2 liters recommended), lunch and snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. 
• Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required; hiking poles may be helpful.
• Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE).
