PS - Hike: CANCELLED DUE TO WILDFIRE Mt. Baldy Overnighter

CANCELLED DUE TO VISTA WILDFIRE  Hike the Mt San Antonio Ski Hut Trail to the Ski Hut (about 2100ft in 3 miles). I reserved 6 beds for an overnight stay. ONLY for fit hikers. They will have the opportunity to stop at the Ski Hut, or continue to the peak and back to the Hut. 

  • All hikers must pay $20 for the overnight stay.
  • Staying overnight: Sleeping bag, food/liquid  (maybe to share), large trash bag. 
  • Weather for the day of the hike is likely around 65-70 during the day. A bit cooler at night.
  • Date: Friday, July 12th Start time & location: 9am at parking / gate area
  • Duration: About 2 - 3 hours to the Ski Hut (depending on pace)
  • Additional 2 - 3 hours to the peak
  • Distance: 2 miles (about 2K ft) to the Ski Hut
  • & about 2 additional miles (about 2K ft) to the peak
  • Pace: Slow
  • Difficulty: VERY Challenging - for fit hikers ONLY!
  • Terrain: Dirt, rocky -- **WARNING: There are some short areas where the trail
  • is either quite narrow and/or some very steep drop-offs.

Be mindful of the ALTITUDE as the hiking will be in the range of 7800ft - 10,066ft.

IMPORTANT: Please wear appropriate hiking shoes. Bring plenty of water (at least 2-3 liters recommended--or more, for those going to the peak and staying overnight), snacks / lunch / dinner, a hat (or sunscreen), Emergency Contact Information (ICE), and a wonderful attitude. Thanks. Also, pets are allowed. But, they are NOT allowed in the Hut.

Poor weather or trail conditions will cancel this hike.
