Join Pride Outside for a unique Pride Month Celebration at
Deane Dana Friendship Park and Nature Center
Music, Drag Queen Story Time, Stargazing and more!

LA County Parks is hosting Pride Month celebrations through the month of June at various parks, pools and natural areas in partnership with LGBTQ+ community-based organizations with the hope to elevate inclusion in parks and recreation programs and spaces, while celebrating LA County’s diversity. Each park will host a different activity and experience that may range from a picnic, artist experience, concert, and dance, just to name a few.
We are excited to have been invited to share this event with you; where the Deane Dana Friendship Park's team will celebrate the beauty of our differences while making s'mores, sitting around a campfire with live entertainment, story time, and stargazing.
· 6:00-7:00 pm: A local band will play while people begin to gather.
· 7:00-7:45 pm: Astronomy Storytime with a Drag Queen
· 8:00-8:30 pm: A short hike to the overlook.
· 8:30-9:30 pm: Stargazing with telescopes set up at the overlook (timing depends on interest).
Get there earlier and visit to the park's Nature Center and museum and have dinner on one of the park's picnic tables or benches.
Carpool/ridesharing information: Due to liability and insurance reasons Great Outdoors cannot organize carpools and hike/trip leaders cannot take an active role in making arrangements for participants' transportation. Bring: A jacket and blanket, a chair and your Pride colors, flags, etc. (There are picnic tables and benches back outside of the Nature Center).
