Lost Palms Oasis in
Joshua Tree National Park
Hiking the Lost Palms Oasis Trail in Joshua Tree National Park is a unique experience. The trail is in the southern part of the park, which has more of a Sonoran Desert feel than most hikes in the northern part. You will not see any Joshua Trees on the Lost Palms Oasis Trail, but you will see the park's largest grove of California fan palm trees tucked into a hidden canyon. There are no big climbs as you go over the ridges and washes through thedesert. It is a fun desert hike that is worth your time.
The trail to Lost Palms Oasis in Joshua Tree National Park begins at Cottonwood Spring at the southern entrance of the park. One of the largest palm oases in the park, second to Munsen Canyon, the trail proceeds through sandy washes and rolling hills until you reach the oasis overlook where the trail descends into the palms.
