Meet up at the Bandshell
Time: 10:30 AM Orientation. Wheels roll at 10:45 AM. Ride!
EVENT:
Join us for a bicycle tour down to the ocean from Bixby Park west along the shoreline bike path through Alamitos Beach and Rainbow Lagoon and Harbor areas. We will visit the Golden Shore Biological Reserve Park https://www.longbeach.gov/park/park-and-facilities/directory/golden-shore-marine-biological-reserve-park/
We will then start our ascent up the new 1.5 miles Mark Bixby Memorial Bike route, a protected path on the spectacular new Long Beach International Gateway Bridge, the second-tallest cable-stayed bridge in the United States. We will be rewarded with spectacular views of the San Pedro Bay, the Port of Long Beach and much of the city’s coastline.
There will be plenty of time to stop and take in the great views, snap some photos, and relax into the Sunday Long Beach vibes.
We will then head east along Long Beach's urban bikeway back through Downtown Long Beach passing by many of its new and upcoming urban structures. We will continue to bike through the "Gayborhood" of Alamitos Beach and end at our brunch destination of Beach Garden Social House.
Distance: approximately 7 (leisurely) miles.
Registration for up to 30 people. Free but must register in advance via the GOLA website.
