This hike is located near the West entrance to JTNP. The terrain is rocky, sandy, and is known for geology, birds, and wildflowers. We will take the south loop around the Window Rock loop.
Carpooling: there is limited parking for this trail, so we will want to take only 3 or 4 vehicles if possible

Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), trail snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Hiking poles may be helpful.
Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
