Sunday Feb. 19th
Matinee @ 1:15 PM
For the past few months, we have been experimenting with going to see movies together as a small group to see the validity of adding something of this nature to our activities. The results have been rewarding with the consensus that this is indeed an activity that warrants continuing with this experiment. The turnout for "Bros." and "In From The Side" were wonderful. The experiment continues as we consider making this a monthly event.
This Sunday the movie selection is 'Of An Age' in Tustin (Orange County) at the AMC Tustin 14 @ The District.. Located between the 5, the 55 and the 405 Freeways, this theater is conveniently located for Orange County and Long Beach members.
Possibility (optional) exists to have a late lunch/early dinner after the movie.
If interested you are responsible for your own purchases (tickets, snacks, parking and other possible expenses).
Prices: Adult $11.79
Senior (60+) $10.69
If you purchase your ticket on line, and are not a member of AMC there is a $2.19 on-line service fee. Otherwise you can purchase at the boxoffice if seats are available.
While this is indeed a last minute notice for this movie, we don't expect much of turnout for this particular movie but in the future we hope to have a more advanced notification. And a bit more coordination so that members can be seated as a group. We are interested in hearing what upcoming movies you may be interested in seeing as a group. So let us know your thoughts!

"Of An Age"
Synopsis:
Set in the summer of 1999 as an 17-year-old Serbian born, Australian amateur ballroom dancer experiences an unexpected and intense 24-hour romance with a friend's older brother.
A frenetic opening pace has 17 year old Kol (Elias Anton) panicking when his best friend Ebony (Hattie Hook in her first feature) phones after a wild night of partying. The two are supposed to be in the finals of an amateur ballroom dancing contest. Kol gets a ride from Ebony's older brother Adam (Thom Green), and as the two search for Ebony, a natural bond begins as easy conversation covers numerous topics. When Adam matter-of-factly admits he's gay, Kol's nervous energy shifts into overdrive.
This bond only has a 24-hour window to blossom, as Adam is headed to South America for graduate studies. But what a 24-hour period it is. The two men continually cross paths, and so much is conveyed with very few spoken words. Glances, body language, and eye-contact are all that's needed. That opening period takes place in 1999, and we then jump ahead to 2010. My, how time and age changes things ... and yet, doesn't.
