Geology:
Beginning over 200 million years ago colossal tectonic forces, subduction, volcanism and earthquakes initiated the current era of transformation of the American West into the diverse landscapes and environments exemplified in the dramatic scenery around us in Southeast California, juxtaposed between the snow capped mountains to the west and the vast interior deserts stretching east to the Colorado Plateau and Rocky Mountains.
