ECA Presents Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary  swing revival band from Southern California. Their notable singles include "Go Daddy-O", "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)", and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit". The band played at the Super Bowl XXXIII half-time show in 1999.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is playing with Katie Ferrara as opening act.

Katie Ferrara is a full-time working musician and award winning singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, CA.  As a performing artist, her repertoire covers folk and pop music from the 60's to present and her songwriting can be best described as "honest and authentic music" with at times, an "ethereal flair".

Doors will open @ 5 PM for guests to enjoy the food trucks and concessions and to save a spot on the grass for the concert.  All concerts are from 5 to 8 PM (event starts at 5 PM, live music begins at 6 PM), free and open to the public of all ages. Bring your happiness and enjoy live music under the stars with OC Parks along with your Great Outdoors family.

While this is event would be great to attend as a group, the logistics makes it challenging since it is a weekday event while also having an early evening/late afternoon time period.  However if you register I will let you know where I will be sitting and possibly manage to save a space or two.  Even better if you can arrive early we can converge at a location within the park before officially being let into the concert space.

All OC Parks Summer Concert Series events are entirely outdoors and will be in accordance with the most current Covid guidance from State and local heath agencies.

Sneak preview: This weeks concert will be a toe-tapping, fun-filled experience. But watch out for next weeks concert!  Next weeks band is a tribute band to The Smiths/Morrissey!  In my humble opinion one of the Top 5 bands EVER!  And I'll kick your ass to defend my opinion!

Getting to the Music Trailhead:

The official address for Mile Square Park is 16801 Euclid St. Fountain Valley, CA 92708.  Click here for the link to the event on OCParks website with maps and information.

Mile Square Park is centrally located whether coming from the 22 or the 405.

Use your GPS/Mapquest/Whatever for directions! Easy On and Easy Off the 405 or the 22; however be forewarned with construction and rush hour traffic please bring your patience and maybe plan some extra time unless you live near the park.

The concert will be held at/near Freedom Hall so take a gander at the map so you can get your bearing prior to arriving at the park.  The park is huge for an urban park so definitely find out where Freedom Hall is located within the Park.

FREE parking at this event!

What to Bring:

You should bring your happiness and tapping toes!  Also recommend bringing a folding chair and possibly a light jacket/sweatshirt.  There will be food trucks and concessions too but you can always bring your own picnic basket!

Carpooling (per Covid restrictions/policies) is recommended to help reduce electric, gas cost and parking congestion. There is NO FEE for this trip!
