Bring your lunch for a picnic at the Oasis.
Hike to discover fantastic views, artifacts of a failed resort, prehistoric Indian trails, 5 million-year-old evidence from when the Pacific covered the area, and a “dome oasis.” This is where the two branches of the San Andreas fault split.
A seldom visited area that is part of the Ca State Parks.
Access to the trailhead requires a vehicle with high clearance. Rocky uneven 2 mile dirt/sand road. Nothing difficult, just rough dirt road in spots. We will caravan as the roads are confusing.
Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/ trail snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
