This hike will take the Mission Creek trail from the Stone House to the PCT, then North to the high-point above the preserve, with views to DHS and the surrounding mountains. The elevation is from 2400 to 3500', and the round trip is approx. 8 miles and 4-5 hours.
Rated Moderately Strenuous - Will be challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve a moderate incline and some steep incline.
Bring 2-3 liters of water and snacks and/or lunch. Hiking poles are not essential but bring them if you prefer.
What to bring: Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/snacks, sun protection, layered clothing. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
