This is a celebratory hike to visit this unique canyon which has been preserved and protected by the Save Oswit Canyon Land Trust. This is one of our best natural areas and home to a variety of desert vegetation and wildlife. Mountain/canyon views, and overlooking Palm Springs in the distance. The turnaround point features a waterfall at a Palm Oasis.

- Distance: 4.8 miles out and back
- Difficulty: Strenuous
- Elevation: 900ft
- Terrain: Dirt, rocky, some minor bouldering requiring good balance and coordination
- Duration: 3.5 hours
- No dogs permitted due to Bighorn Sheep habitat.
Location/directions: Parking will be at the south end of the South Lykken trailhead. Ample parking along the west side of South Palm Canyon Dr. near the bridge. Map Trailhead parking

What to bring: Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/snacks, sun protection, layered clothing. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
