Great Outdoors x Lucidity
November 6-8, 2020
Have you ever thought of going to Burning Man, but you didn’t have the time and money, or didn’t want to bear the harsh conditions of the desert? Well you’re in luck, because right in your own backyard is an event that embodies the spirit of Burning Man, without all the intensities you would endure otherwise!
Enter Lucidity, a 3 day arts and music campout festival devoted to community, culture and immersive experience. Come join Great Outdoors as we help create a first-ever LGBTQ+ theme camp that showcases our values of inclusivity, fun, fellowship, as well as appreciation for and preservation of the outdoors. We will be featured as a non-profit collaborator with Lucidity Festival, alongside other locally-known non-profits such as Santa Barbara Summer Solstice!
We are looking for camp contributors and participants! We are able to, in exchange for greater support, offer five (5) heavily discounted festival passes. Support opportunities include camp decor, transportation/shuttle, and acting as camp hosts during our special events: a Queer Meet & Greet and Weenie Roast. Contact J-Mo for more information and to offer your support!
Tickets are available now!
We have five (5) “Awesomesauce” 3 Day Festival Passes available to our members exclusively for $222. These special tickets include: Early Access Pass (Thursday arrival), Mindful Feeding Pass (Dinner each night), Shower Pass (Unlimited) and a guaranteed tent space in our centrally-located camp… a total value of $420! You will be required to help facilitate our camp by hosting the campfire at night or one of our special events Friday or Saturday. We will be showcasing our organization to the festival public, so please be prepared to make a good impression! ALSO NOTE: Because of our unique agreement with Lucidity as a theme camp, these tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Beyond these special tickets, everyone else is responsible for securing their own. We will have 8 spots available for general participants in our camp. You can use the discount promo code “GreatOutdoors” which can be shared publicly and used immediately to encourage attendance! See Lucidity’s Ticket FAQ for more info.
The festival is located at Live Oak Camp near Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County. Our campsite will have limited space and will be tent camping only. If you have any special needs beyond tent camping, contact J-Mo with your concern. Please inform J-Mo with your tent size, and if you’ll be bringing food or other support to share with the camp. There are no pets allowed, with the exception of Registered Service Animals. More info can be found in Lucidity’s Camping FAQ.
Once you arrive, the box office will handle your credentials/ticket. If you have a car camping pass (currently sold out, with the exception of limited ADA passes) you will be allowed to drive and park on-site. Otherwise, you will park in the general parking lot and we can arrange a shuttle to get you to our campsite. In rare cases, you may be allowed to drive in to drop off your gear and then park in general parking. Please inform J-Mo of your expected arrival so we can make shuttle arrangements.
There is a lot to be eaten at Lucidity! From food vendors to the Mindful Feeding Kitchen (aka commissary), there are plenty of options on-site for dining. Of course, you can bring your own food. If you’d like to help facilitate that, please let us know. Food Vendors generally cost from $8-15 per meal, and Mindful Feeding Kitchen Passes are available from $70-90 for 3 dinners/2 lunches. Saturday afternoon we will host an Art Weenie Roast. If you’d like to bring any accoutrements or have any creative ideas or contributions contact J-Mo.
