PS - Hike: Whitewater View Loop

Registration note: This hike is designed to welcome first time or novice hikers. Experienced hikers may join waitlist and will be added if space is available.

Hike offers a good opportunity to visit the Preserve and see it from the excellent view points along the trail. Bonus views include Mt. San Jacinto, the Coachella Valley, and Toro Peak.

A few small streams generally can be crossed with stepping stones, but be prepared for the possibility of some water. The trail also has some slick areas of loose rocks and decomposed stone. Otherwise, the trail was in good condition as of mid January.

Parking can be challenging later in the day, hence the departure time at 8:30 from Hunters. Anyone joining from west of Palm Springs is welcome to meet at the Preserve parking lot at 9:00; please advise the hike leader.

Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch and snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.

Carpooling is encouraged and may be available if offered by driver. You are responsible for arranging you own transportation or ride share.
