The Irvine Ranch Conservancy Wilderness Access Day

First Saturday of Every Month

Easy to Moderate Hikes: can be tailored to the group

The first Saturday of every month, weather permitting, the Irvine Ranch Conservancy has Open Access to one of their parks. The Irvine Ranch Conservancy manages the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. The Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks is part of the 50,000 acres preserved of the historic Irvine Ranch. Roughly 40,000 acres is designated a Natural Landmark by the State of California and the US Department of the Interior. It is OC’s only national Natural Landmark. It is part of OC Parks. Access is limited to docent led activities except on Wilderness Access Day.

To participate in this activity, you should first register at LetsGoOutside.org. Available openings are usually full by one week prior to the activity. Registration is strongly encouraged but no longer required by the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks.  Once you have registered, let me know so I can look for you. I will wear a G.O. t-shirt.

After rain, the park is closed for three days. Open Access occurs the first Saturday of each and every month, but they rotate locations. If you are reading this, sign up by clicking here. That will save you a step in future months. Please click on the I'm interested button on Wild Apricot so that I will know that your are coming, along with any guests that you are bringing. (Each person signing up at Lets Go Outside can bring up to four guests.) Please confirm you are coming by checking in the night before.
