GOSD Santa Ysabel Preserve West Day Hike

You're invited to join us for the Great Outdoors San Diego (GOSD) Santa Ysabel Open Preserve West Day Hike. It’s located in the Santa Ysabel County Preserve, not far from the town of Julian. This Hike is rated as moderate due to several steep hills. Average temperatures during this time of the year are 62°H/42° so please plan accordingly.

The parking lot entrance is located on the north/left side of CA-78 as you head towards Julian and is before Dudley's Bakery.
Hike Description: (total distance 5.6 miles with an elevation gain of 1,174 feet)
Santa Ysabel Preserve West Trail is a 5.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located in Santa Ysabel, California that features open vistas, mature oaks and a stream that runs through the lower portion . The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and horses. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
We will start our hike at the parking lot off Julian Road. Please plan on being there a little early as we expect to leave by 10.
As with all hikes, please be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen and your 10 essentials. For this hike, you’ll also want to bring l warm clothes for the morning, and lunch or snacks. Mobile phone reception is limited in the area.
