GETTING THERE
Since CicLAvia encourages the use to public transportation to its events. The Great Outdoors group plans to depart from the San Bernardino Depot Metrolink Station at 1170 N. 3rd St, San Bernardino CA 92418 (not to be confused with the San Bernardino Downtown Station) to LA Union Station You will need to bring your own bicycles, which are welcome on the train.
Those wishing to carpool/caravan from Palm Springs should meet at Palm Springs Petsmart at Ramon/Crossley (Map) at 8:00 am to allow time to reach the San Bernardino Depot. If you want to rideshare and have extra space available on your bike rack or truck, you may so indicate when you register. Carpooling is encouraged and may be available if offered by driver. You are responsible for arranging you own transportation or ride share. Metro departs San Bernardino at 9:30 am
You can also meet us in Hollywood along the route. We will start at Hollywood/Vine Station from the Red Line from Union Station. When you register you will receive the cell # of Scott to contact.
There will be ample parking at the Station. Those planning to drive from Palm Springs to the San Bernardino Depot should bring vehicles capable of carrying bicycles.
The Great Outdoors group plans to return from LA Union Station to the San Bernardino Depot on the 4:00 pm train, arriving at the San Bernardino Depot at 5:37 p.m.
You are encouraged to download the Metrolink app to your smart phone containing all of its schedules. Once registered, you can buy your electronic ticket ($10 all day for Metrolink and all downtown subways). The machines at the depot are notoriously user unfriendly.
