Skyline Trail to the 1st Rescue Box (Water Supply) Hike Date: Thursday, April 4th Start time: 7:00 am Duration: Around 4 hours depending on pace/# of breaks Difficulty: STRENUOUS! (NOT for beginners) -- Total Elevation: About 2000ft Distance: 4.7 miles round trip Pace: Slow to Moderate -- NOTE! For active hikers ONLY! Location/Meeting: Address location will be in confirmation email Hike Leader: David Stewart This is a unique hike for 2 reasons: I'm an honorary member of the Palm Springs Police Department, Search and Rescue Unit and many times in the past, I have delivered mostly water and other supplies to the 2 important Rescue Boxes on this famous trail. I will request everyone to carry at least 1, small bottle with them (I will provide the bottled water). This hike also provides fabulous views such as Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City and beyond as part of the expanse of Coachella Valley. Along the way we'll see unusual rock formations and a variety of colorful desert vegetation. There be a nice, long break/rest near the 1st Rescue Box before returning to where I live.
