Crown Valley to Cabin Creek Beginner Backpack

Mid June is a great time to get away to the Sierra Nevada Moutnains. This is Spring in the Sierra. Temperatures are moderate. The weather is usually beautifully clear.
Driving to Crown Valley Trailhead on June 7, the day before the backpack begins is recommended. We will be leaving from the trailhead around 9 AM on June 8.
On the first day, starting at about 6,800 feet we will backpack through Jeffrey Pines and Sugar Pines, passing a Jeffrey Pine nursery.After crossing Little Rancheria Creek, we will being climibing. At first the climb will be gradual, then steeper. When se reachThree Springs, we will take a break. There should be water there for refilling our supply.
After leaving the spirngs, we will soon enter the Wilderness Area. Out trail becomes more gradual as we hike through the forest.
We will reach out destrination at Cabin Creek at 8,330 feet, having covered about 4.5 miles.
On the second day, we can take a day hike, exploring other lakes in the area, such as Crown Lake.
On the third day, we will break camp and head back to the trailhead and home. Total distance with backpacks will be 9 miles with a gain/loss of about 1,500 feet.
The third day, we will retrace our steps from the first day, and drive back to Orange County/Long Beach.
