Explore art, history, and culture of the American West from the first inhabitants and early settlers as well as western movies and TV of our early day. Who was your favorite cowboy? Displays include artifacts of western living and culture. Lunch at the local café. Explore on your own following lunch.

Schedule:

  • 8:15 am Meet at Dollar Tree store Sunrise/Vista Chino for carpool. Map click here
  • 11:00 am Docent-guided tour (60 minutes)
  • 12:15 pm Lunch at Crossroads West Cafe  At the Autry. (reserved seating)
  • 2:15 pm Depart (time may vary according to your carpool group)
  • 3:15 pm Visit  REI ( 20% discount anniversary sale)  Rancho Cucamonga (carpool group option)
  • 5:30 pm Dinner at Souplantation San Bernardino (carpool group option)

The Autry was established in 1988 by actor and businessman Gene Autry as "Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum" to explore and share the comprehensive story of the American West and its multiple cultures and interpret its significance. Its Griffith Park collection includes 21,000 paintings, sculptures, costumes, textiles, firearms, tools, toys, musical instruments, and other objects. The museum presents contemporary and historical exhibitions.

Carpooling is encouraged and may be available if offered by a driver. You are responsible for arranging you own transportation or ride share. Arrive a few minutes early for carpooling. Be kind you your ride share driver and share travel expenses.

Members only until May 1 when registration will be open to guests and nonmembers if space is available. Refund for cancel may be available if minimums are met.
