Morro Bay State Park Campout

Come along and enjoy this beautiful piece of the central coast with your Great Outdoors!

Our campground is located on the edge of the Morro Bay Estuary, a beautiful and ecologically fragile site that is unique to Morro Bay. It’s a beautiful area for walks, hiking, wildlife watching, kayaking, or just enjoying the view!

In addition to all the other options for enjoyment on this trip, we’ll be in Morro Bay during the annual Avocado and Margarita Street Festival (tickets for this event included in your reg fee!) There is limited space so sign up early to assure you a spot on this excursion. It is a big campground so tents will have plenty of room to spread out. (Those in a tent may have to park their cars in the overflow just a stone’s throw away.) Carpool and cut gas cost and to assure yourself of on-site parking. Facilities include firerings, picnic tables, flush toilets. There are pay showers also.

This trip is a four day one, but campers can arrive on Friday if they need to due to work, etc. Activities of the weekend are sketched out in the Itinerary below, but nothing is chiseled in stone! Campfire time each night gives us a chance to discuss the next day’s events, figure out carpooling, etc. The main goal here is to have a good time, make some new friends, and enjoy the trip! So come along and enjoy Morro Bay!

Directions:
From the South (this will be most of you!) Take Hwy 101 north to the Los Osos-Baywood Park offramp. Turn left, heading towards Los Osos. Travel about 10 miles to South Bay Blvd. Turn Right. Go about three miles, past the estuary. The state park entrance will be on your left. Follow the road along the estuary, on your left. You’ll start seeing the campground on your right. Shortly after the Marina comes up on your left, the campground entrance will come up on your right, you’re there!

For GPS folks, the campground address is: 252-284 South Bay Blvd, Morro Bay, Ca. 93442
