 Explore Cabot's Pueblo Museum & Soak in Miracle Hot Springs

Step back in time and reimagine life in the early days as we visit the home of one of the original homesteaders, Cabot Yerxa. Discover his adventurous, unique, and charming lifestyle, along with his creative talents. In 1913, Yerxa got off the train and walked 7 miles across desolate sand dunes to what later became known as "Miracle Hill." After the tour, you'll have some time to explore the historic grounds and check out fascinating items.

Date & Time:

  • Meet at 9:00 AM at the parking lot across from PetSmart and next to the Walmart Gas station, Ramon & Crossley Rd. Map click here

  • Alternatively, 9:30 AM meet at Cabot's Museum 30 minutes prior to your tour at: 67616 Desert View Ave, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240

Event Highlights:

  • Guided Tour at Cabot's Pueblo Museum: Learn about the history and adventures of Cabot Yerxa.

  • Free Time to Explore: Wander through the historic grounds and marvel at the unique artifacts.

  • Lunch & Relaxation at  Miracle Springs Resort and Spa : Enjoy a non hosted delightful meal at or reserved group table at the Capri Restaurant, followed by a soothing soak in the natural mineral hot springs. (no brown bagging).

  • Bring towel and swimsuit if using the spa. 

Cost:

  • $13 Admission Cabot's Museum. 

  •  Complimentary Spa admission Provided by Miracle Springs Resort and Spa for those staying for lunch,$18 value. 

Open to non members and guests if space is available after the indicated date.

Additional Information:

  • Carpooling: Encouraged and may be available if offered by a driver. You are responsible for arranging your own transportation or ride share. Contributions to driver costs are welcome. With lunch and spa options, carpool accordingly.

  • Event Conditions & Health Concerns: Extended standing and indoor/outdoor walking are expected, including steep staircases and narrow passageways. You may discuss any medical concerns with the event leader that may affect your ability to complete this event.
