Update! Stay afterwards to hang at the beach! Bring your lunch/food/drinks and beach gear, umbrella, swimsuit, sunscreen, music to enjoy the beach with us after the cleanup!

We are excited to join the great folks at California Gay Adventures in participating in the Annual Heal the Bay Coastal Cleanup event at Ginger Rogers Beach.  Let's do our part and help contribute to removing 2 million pounds of trash from local waterways.

Are you Ready? 

1) Register here on Great Outdoors so we know how many to expect. 

1) You must also register at Heal the Bay's Coastal Cleanup website for important details including signing a digital waiver and to receive parking (see below)

2) Click on the big blue "Join a Cleanup Site" button and scroll towards the bottom for Will Rogers...Ginger Rogers.

3) Register yourself and any guests to join us at Ginger Rogers. 

Parking & Transportation

    • Volunteers at LA County-operated beach and park sites will be granted free parking. A parking pass will be sent to you closer to the event. 

    • Santa Monica sites will have free parking for the first 200 hundred volunteer vehicles per parking lot. A parking pass will be sent to you closer to the event. Buses are not allowed to park in lot 1N.

    • Carpool/ridesharing information: Due to liability and insurance reasons Great Outdoors cannot organize carpools and hike/trip leaders cannot take an active role in making arrangements for participants' transportation. If you would like a ride, or could provide a ride, members can sign up on your own at the link here ==> Carpooling 

  • Metro offers a quick and easy tool to plan your trip. 

Bring: Please, if you have them, bring a BUCKET, GLOVES, and a REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE as sites may reach maximum capacity and supplies could run low! Also, bring sunblock, plenty of water and head coverings!
