Easy Hike in Fullerton!
Bring your Furry Friends!
Start time: 9:00 A.M.
Meeting Place: South end of parking lot near Trail head (see map below).
Details: Easy – 5.0 miles – One small hill.
Trail: Juanita Cooke Greenbelt Trail (Part of the greater Fullerton Loop)
An easy beginner hike for people who are used to walking or would like to do some light exercise. We'll walk from the trail head by the Fullerton Courthouse 2+ miles north along the Juanita Cooke Greenbelt Trail to Laguna Lake. We'll circle the small lake, then walk back.
The Juanita Cooke Greenbelt Trail is part of a collection of 12 Miles of trails throughout Fullerton that are collectively known as the Fullerton Loop. The trails pass through residential neighborhoods and at a few points cross over smaller streets with crosswalks. These trails are multi-use and are very popular with hikers/walkers, mountain bikers and in some places equestrians.
The trail is mostly surrounded by trees offering shade at times. There's a water faucet about halfway to the lake.
Bring your Furry Friends!
Don't leave them at home!
The trails are dog friendly. If you plan on bringing your pet make sure it's well behaved and not aggressive with people or other dogs. Your furry friend must be on a leash at all times.
Getting to the Trail head:
Please be on time we will start walking at 9:15 sharp. Give yourself some extra time if you're not familiar with the area.
The Fullerton Courthouse is located just off Harbor Blvd in Fullerton. Turn West on Berkeley Ave and follow the curve you'll see the parking lot on the left side (west). Just pull in and park in the lot. You'll see lots of other cars parked there. The trail head is at the southern most part of the parking lot along the trees.
You can use navigation on your phone to the Fullerton Courthouse, or the Fullerton Bike Loop Parking area. The courthouse is located at 1275 N BERKELEY AVE. Just park in the southernmost part of the lot near the trail head.
The parking lot can get busy on weekends. Bring a full water bottle, sunscreen, hat, snacks if needed. Wear good comfortable walking/hiking shoes. It may also be chilly in the morning dress appropriately.
