As the "ultimate tribute to Morrissey and The Smiths," LA-based Sweet and Tender Hooligans have been paying homage to the legendary British indie band for more than two decades with their finely crafted tribute show.
Performing to sold-out crowds throughout the US, Mexico and UK, frontman Jose Maldonado channels Morrissey so convincingly that Moz himself has even jokingly taken the stage with the opening line "Hello, we are the Sweet and Tender Hooligans and I'm Jose."
From their era-perfect style to Maldonado's Morrissey-inspired coif, the band never fails to satisfy even the most rigorous Smiths purists. Not to be missed if you are a Morrissey and The Smiths fan!
Opening Act: Roderick Chambers
Roderick Chambers was born and raised from south Florida and worked 8 years with a cover band performing all over the country. A typical performance with Roderick will sound like John Legend, Bob Marley, Sam Smith, Marvin Gay, Michael Jackson, and John Mayer.
Doors will open @ 5 PM for guests to enjoy the food trucks and concessions and to save a spot on the grass for the concert. All concerts are from 5 to 8 PM (event starts at 5 PM, live music begins at 6 PM), free and open to the public of all ages. Bring your happiness and enjoy live music under the stars with OC Parks along with your Great Outdoors family.
This event is great to attend as a group, the logistics makes it challenging since it is a weekday event while also having an early evening/late afternoon time period. However if you register I will let you know where I will be sitting and possibly manage to save a space or two. Even better if you can arrive early we can converge at a location within the park before officially being let into the concert space.
All OC Parks Summer Concert Series events are entirely outdoors.

What to Bring:
You should bring your happiness and tapping toes! Also recommend bringing a folding chair and possibly a light jacket/sweatshirt. There will be food trucks and concessions too but you can always bring your own picnic basket & BYOB/beverages!
Carpooling is recommended to help reduce electric, gas cost and parking congestion. There is NO FEE for this trip!
