PS - Hike: Garrets Arch Joshua Tree Park

GARRET'S ARCH - WONDERLAND OF ROCKS is one of the many treasures of Joshua Tree National Park. Twelve square miles of massive monzogranite boulders. This maze of stone hides groves of Joshua trees, trackless washes and several small pools of water.  We will explore off trail narrow canyons and washes, towering walls and pinnacles with amazing geological features. We will also visit historical Wall Street Mill.

• Difficulty Rating: Moderate Plus: Involves rock scrambling around and over boulders with exposure. Handholds and good balance are necessary.

• Terrain: rocky trail, sandy areas, dry waterfalls, large boulders

8:00 AM Meet at PetSmart Palm Springs click here, or at Joshua Tree West Entrance Station parking area next to restrooms at 8:45. 

Park entrance fee or park pass required.

Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (2 to 3 liters recommended), trail snacks/lunch. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Gloves may be helpful.

Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are essential.
