An easy urban hike/walk for people who are used to walking or would like to do some light exercise. We'll walk from the meeting point at Philz Coffee north to Chapman University and stroll through the campus grounds and their sculpture garden spread throughout the campus. Then we'll work our way back towards the center of Old Town. At that point there are several options for lunch. Old Town Orange is full of cute shops and places to eat. It's got a great small village feel in the middle of big Orange County.
Your Furry Friends are welcome!
Most places in old town Orange are dog friendly and many of the restaurants have patio spaces outside. If you plan on bringing your pet make sure it's well behaved and not aggressive with people or other dogs. Your furry friend must be on a leash at all times.
Chapman University
The University moved here in the 50's from Los Angeles and has a beautiful campus. We'll take a leisurely walk through the sprawling campus to view the art, architecture and fountains.
Learn more about the university at their website: WWW.CHAPMAN.EDU
Check out their interactive campus map which includes a section on the public spaces and various artwork we'll see: INTERACTIVE MAP
Brunch Afterward!
Afterward we can grab lunch at one of the local restaurants along Glassell. Most of which also have patios that are dog friendly. While we can't guarantee we'll find a table for us all to sit together there are some fun choices and we'll make it work.
Meet in front of Philz Coffee:
Philz is located at the corner of Glassell and Maple streets at 202 N Glassell St. They have a parking lot but please don't park there. We don't want to block their customers before they've had their morning cup of joe :)
There's plenty of street parking and there are designated public parking lots behind the businesses that line Glassell St. See the Map below.
Please be on time we will start walking at 10:15 sharp. Give yourself some extra time if you're not familiar with the area. Then meet us in front of Philz.
Bring a hat, or sunscreen, if needed. We recommend comfortable walking/hiking shoes. It may also be chilly in the morning dress appropriately.
