2022 Speaker Series

Please join us to hear the first in-person speakers this year in our Great Outdoors Palm Springs Speaker Series for 2022!  We are presenting topics of interest to members exploring the environment, the flora and fauna of the Coachella Valley and the surrounding mountains.

We are pleased to have for our November Speaker Series representatives from Friends of the Desert Mountains, a local land nonprofit conservation organization.  The Friends' mission is to preserve land, to support education, conservation and research in the Coachella Valley, and to act as the support group for the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.  Dr. Robert Reed, a longtime GOPS member, is vice chair of the organization and will introduce the speakers. The speakers will discuss volunteer opportunities for the public that help them fulfill their mission. 

This talk will be held on Tuesday, November 15 at the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The Center is located at 1301 N Palm Canyon Dr., Third Floor, Room 3, in Palm Springs.  The presentation will be held in person in a large conference room.  Light snacks will be served.

We request that everyone be vaccinated in order to attend this indoor event. Wearing a mask during the event is optional.
