Wild Coachella: Lessons From the Coyote Coast
Take a journey with us for the next Wild Coachella lecture.
This is the story of coyotes in California and their survival in both wildlands and cities as America attempted to eradicate them. We'll also look at the coyote's role in West Coast popular culture. Coyotes were protagonists in Walt Disney's pro-coyote films, became an Everyman figure in the Roadrunner/Wily Coyote cartoons, and an American hero when the Bay Area literary counterculture adopted the Indian deity, Coyote, as inspiration.
Optional dinner at Pueblo Viejo Grill after the lecture. If you are interested you can so indicate when you click 'I plan to attend 'with GO. You will also need to register with UCR on the link below.
