Description: Split Rock/Face Rock Loop Trail is a 2.3-mile trail located in Joshua Tree National Park just off Park Blvd. approximately 2.2 miles west of Pinto Basin Road. The trail begins at the Split Rock parking area. We will hike the trail in a counterclockwise direction. At approximately 1.2 miles we will take a side trip to Face Rock. This is approximately .6 miles out and back to the Split Rock Loop trail. This trail provides a variety of landscapes and unique rock formations.
Departure Location: Dollar Tree/Stater Bros. in Palm Springs at 1717 E. Vista Chino Road, cross street, N. Cerritos Road; meet at the north/east corner parking lot between 7:45 and 8:00 a.m. Map: Click Here
Fees/Charges: Joshua Tree Park entrance fee. It is highly recommended that you enter Joshua Tree National Park from the North Entrance, located in 29 Palms. It is the closest entry to the trailhead. In addition, there are fewer visitors entering at this location.
Hiking Requirements: Although the trail is fairly level, the elevation is at 4600 feet so you will need to be in good physical condition for this hike. Click here for more information.
Carpooling is encouraged and may be available if offered by driver. You are responsible for arranging your own transportation or ride share.
