PS - Hike: Moser Mine

Exploratory hike to old mining area.

Located in the Eagle and Coxcomb Mountains in the eastern part of Joshua Tree Park.

7 or 8 miles and 800 to 950 elevation gain.

Navigate to waypoints across alluvial fan into the hills, cross-country and partial old 2 wheel track. This is exploratory hike and the route has not been scouted or traveled previously.

Rated: Moderately Strenuous - will generally be challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve a steady and often steep incline.

Bring Ten Essentials (click here), water (2 to 3 liters recommended), trail snacks and lunch. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Hiking poles may be helpful.

Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.

Leave No Trace - We are visiting  an area of the National Park with historical artifacts at the mine sites - do not disturb or remove any items.
