We will park at the Stone House and hike to the Pacific Crest Trail and back. The round trip is 7.5 miles with 800' elevation gain. The route is through a varied canyon and although it has been a dry year there should be some birds and possibly some flowers blooming due to recent rains. The route is a mild incline the entire route, and decline on the return. There will be some sandy stretches and some thorny bushes, so consider long sleeves and pants. The last 4 miles to the Stone House are driving on unpaved but even road.

Bring 1-2 liters of water and snacks and/or lunch. Hiking poles are not essential but bring them if you prefer. Expected hiking time will be between 3.5 and 4.5 hours.

Meeting 9:00 in the parking lot next to Carl's Jr, at the corner of N. Palm Canyon and Racquet Club in Palm Springs, enter on Racquet Club.

What to bringTen Essentials (click here), water (1 to 2 liters recommended), lunch/snacks, sun protection, layered clothing. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required.
