February 3rd to 6th, 2022
Have you ever wanted to “walk like an Egyptian” through golden sand dunes, search for hidden treasures like Indiana Jones, or lose yourself in the infinite depths of the nighttime desert sky?
Join us as we explore Death Valley: one of the world’s most scenic, yet foreboding landscapes. Walk amid sand dunes, water sculpted canyons and salt flats that remain from ancient seas. On our journey, you may even catch sight of a Ring-tailed Cat, Kit Fox and Desert Bighorn Sheep as we venture through the rugged canyons and other magnificent geological features. Wildflowers, trees and shrubs tortured by the wind will amaze you throughout this beautiful land. Spectacular photo ops await, particularly in the magical, subtle light of dawn and dusk.
Details
We have reserved Group sites 2 & 3 at Furnace Creek Campground. There is a $30/vehicle National Park Service Entry Fee, good for 7 days, and payable at the kiosk. Your America the Beautiful Pass or Lifetime Senior Pass will also work. Group sites allow tents only.
If you want to join this trip and plan to bring an RV/Trailer, there may be sites at Fiddlers Campground. Book your own site and register for this trip using the "external campsite" type. We do not have any RV sites reserved. https://secure.oasisatdeathvalley.com/booking/lodging
Campground amenities include flush toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and potable water. Showers are located about a mile away at the Oasis Springs. $14 gets you a day pass to the pool and showers. A general store, restaurant, gas station, and visitor center are nearby as well.
Bring your 10 essentials, your camping & cooking gear, food, and a bundle or two of firewood. Dress in layers since the mornings can start cold with the day warming quickly and cooling just as quickly as the sun goes down. Sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat would be a good idea too.
Registration:
This campout is limited by the number of vehicles allowed at the group sites. If it looks sold out when you register, please add yourself to the wait list. Based on the number of vehicles from other registrants, you may still be added to the trip in the order added to the wait list if we can fit you in.
