This is a fun and different journey than most! In Mecca there is a cave system called the Grottos where you climb over, under and around various rock obstacles, sometime in total darkness, sometimes on your belly and sometimes through narrow confined spaces. Headlamps advised, pants advised as well as gloves. If you prefer not to enter the grotto, you can wait outside the entrance for about 30 minutes until we exit the cave.
Bring Ten Essentials (click here), headlamp for the grotto cave, gloves, water (2 to 3 liters recommended), and trail snacks. Sun protection and layered clothing are recommended. Carry Emergency Contact Information (ICE). Sturdy hiking footwear with good tread and adequate drinking water are required. Hiking poles may be helpful.
Hiking Requirements - you will need to be in good physical condition for this hike. Click here for more information.
