Round Valley Loop and Hidden Divide hike via Aerial Tram
Escape the summer heat by taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to an elevation of more than 8,500 feet to hike in the Mt. San Jacinto Wilderness. Temperatures at the tram’s Mountain Station can be 30 degrees cooler, so check at https://www.pstramway.com/weather/ before you leave home to determine how to dress.
Tickets for the Tram: $25.95 Adult $23.95 Senior. Summer and Annual passes available. Recommend purchasing online at least a day before the event as tickets sell out. $8 parking fee waived for pass holders and local residents. Our tram departure is 10 AM. Purchase tickets here: Palm Springs Tram Tickets
When checking in at the Long Valley Ranger Station, we will ask for a free permit to access Hidden Divide, which is open on a first-come, first-served basis to a maximum of 30 hikers per day and only Thursdays through Sundays. It was closed for restoration in recent years. If we don’t make the cut for Hidden Divide, we will still do the Round Valley Loop counterclockwise, a lovely trek through pine forests with mountain views.
