Welcome to the Great Outdoors Palm Springs (GOPS) Chapter of California Great Outdoors, Inc. Our chapter serves the entire Coachella Valley not just Palm Springs. We are an incorporated, non-profit, all-volunteer organization sponsoring outdoor and social activities predominately for LGBTQA+ people. Our chapter (with over 300 members) is one of five chapters covering most of the Southern California region which has more than 500 members.

Our activities include weekend camping trips, day hiking, backpacking, 4x4 off-road trips, social gatherings, pool parties, game nights and other interesting events.

COVID-19 UPDATE

4/26/2022 - Until further notice, all GOPS events require all attendees to be fully vaccinated and abide by the GOPS COVID policy - CLICK HERE. For outdoor events, you'll need to self certify you are full vaccinated.  For indoor events, you must submit your proof of vaccination.  Send your proof of vaccination to: GOPSCOVID@gmail.com or text it to: 760-902-1850.  

California has lifted its stay at home order.  Great Outdoors outdoor events are now allowed but must be consistent with the requirements for gatherings set in the California Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
