Welcome to the Great Outdoors Palm Springs (GOPS) Chapter of California Great Outdoors, Inc. Our chapter serves the entire Coachella Valley not just Palm Springs. We are an incorporated, non-profit, all-volunteer organization sponsoring outdoor and social activities predominately for gay and lesbian people. Our chapter (with over 150 members) is one of five chapters covering most of the Southern California region which has more than 800 members. Our activities include weekend camping trips, day hiking, backpacking, 4x4 off-road trips, social gatherings, game nights and other interesting events.

Each chapter sponsors their own calendar. At any one time, there are a number of activities to choose from. Click on the Links button on your left for other Great Outdoors Chapters. Great Outdoors Mission Statement: Great Outdoors is an organization dedicated to supporting and predominately empowering the gay community through various social activities with an emphasis on the advancement of knowledge of our outdoor environment and the enhancement and enjoyment of camping, hiking and wilderness training.
