Carnival Splendor cruise ship

In the wake of our recent, successful weekend cruise to Ensenada, Mexico, when 11 G.O. members ate and laughed their way up and down the Pacific, Great Outdoors Santa Barbara/Ventura Chapter is pleased to announce two new cruises scheduled for later this year. Working together with Cruise Bargains Inc., we have secured some of the best prices per day, EVER!

December 12th-19th, an 8 day, 7 night Holiday Cruise to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas, for an amazing deal $530 for seven days, including taxes and port charges!

Our Upcoming Trips

Zion Adventurefest and Car Camp
September 8-12, 2010

Join GO Los Angeles at the amazing Zion National Park in Utah! Klaus has 15 people signed-up, leaving only 10 spaces. Their permit for the uber-strenuous 'The Narrows' river hike is for 12 people; 8 are committed and room for 4 more people to join. There's room for 6 more people to join the moderate 'Narrows' river hike.  The trip notes emphasize Adventure!  But don't let them scare you.  The park is huge and awesome with tons to see and do!  Besides the scheduled Narrows hike, we'll probably work-out the rest of the activities as a group once we get there so everyone can get what they want out of this Great Outdoors trip!
The trip is coming up quick!  If you wanna sign-up, give me a shout ASAP! Full trip notes and registration form at:  http://www.greatoutdoorsla.org/tripnotes/Zion2010.pdf

Conference 2010
The Mad Hatter Tea Party
October 14-17, 2010

Great Outdoors Conference 2010 is being hosted by OCLB. It will be at Leo Carrillo State Park. This is the annual business meeting of all of the chapters to conduct elections and other corporate business. And, for those not involved in the that gritty nitty, the park has 1.5 miles of beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing and beachcombing. There are tide pools, coastal caves and reefs for exploring. And of course there are wonderful trails to hike and the campfire for getting reacquainted with friends you have not seen since last conference. The theme is the Mad Hatter Tea Party. But only the Tea Party can be Mad!!
