Great Outdoors San Diego Chapter Land Acknowledgement Statement

Great Outdoors San Diego and our members often enjoy ourselves outdoors on the ancestral homelands of the Kumeyaay tribe and other Native Nations who inhabited southern CA for over 12,000 years. These Native lands was stolen through broken treaties like the treaty of Santa Ysabel and the clearing of villages for the Panama-California Exposition. We recognize the history of these historic injustices and strive to honor these Native cultures and traditions rooted in these lands.

Great Outdoors and our members enjoy the privilege of using the outdoors for recreation. We strive to include more of our community, especially those historically not included.
